Unauthorised billboards removed
Three billboards erected without permission in south Bristol have been removed.
The triumvirate of advertising bumf on the corner of St Luke’s Road and Mead Street are now no more thanks to a collaborative effort.
The billboards that had been put up close to the former site of Bart Spices are just the latest unauthorised billboards to be taken down in Bristol.
Windmill Hill councillor Ed Plowden said: “I am very grateful that a local resident noticed that these billboards had appeared without permission and that Planning Enforcement were able to take this effective action.
“This is a good example of councillors, council staff and local residents working together to improve local neighbourhoods, and I hope it will encourage other residents to come forward and work with us in the future.
“Our planning service was put into special measures under Labour.
“This removal shows that the Green-led administration’s hard work to get it back on track is making a noticeable difference and I hope this continues.”
