Two arrested after assault in park

Two men have been arrested after reports of an assault in Castle Park on Saturday morning.

Avon and Somerset Police were called to the scene at 6.03am after reports of disorder, which left a man in his 30s injured.

The victim was taken to a hospital soon after, and his injuries are believed to be neither life-threatening nor life-altering.

The two men arrested on suspicion of wounding with intent remain in police custody.

A stretch of the park was closed temporarily on Saturday morning for police and forensic teams to carry out necessary investigations. The cordons have now been lifted and the park is open as usual.

Police have appealed to any witnesses who may have seen the incident or know anything about it to contact them.
