Trump’s former communications director coming to Bristol
A senior member of Donald Trump’s 2017 administration, who held his position for less than two weeks, is coming to Bristol as part of a UK-wide tour for his upcoming book, All The Wrong Moves.
Anthony Scaramucci was fired by Trump from his position as White House communications director 11 days after assuming office.
Scaramucci is expected to speak about the increasing division in the United States and what lies ahead for the country at the event at St George’s on September 19, just two weeks before the US midterm elections.

Scaramucci’s website strongly criticises the current US scenario, including the “menace” caused by masked agents in Minneapolis and Trump’s jokes about cancelled election. It says that “American democracy is on the brink”.
Trump has already been described on the website as someone who “represents one of the most serious challenges the country has faced”.
At his appearance in Bristol, Scaramucci will explore the polarisation of America from political, cultural and economic angles, drawing on his own experiences of working at Wall Street and the White House.
He is also expected to deliver a “hopeful message” for the future of American politics, while promoting his new book.

Scaramucci is also the founder of an alternative investments firm SkyBridge Capital and has written several other books, including The Little Book of Hedge Funds, Goodbye Gordon Gekko and Hopping Over the Rabbit Hole.
The talk in Bristol is being organised by Intelligence Squared, who have previously hosted public figures like Keir Starmer and Malala Yousafzai.
Intelligent Squared’s CEO, Matt McAllester, said: “Anthony Scaramucci is one of the most compelling and unconventional voices in contemporary American politics.
“This tour brings audiences a rare opportunity to hear directly from someone who has operated at the highest levels of finance, media and government, and who is willing to speak candidly about the forces shaping America today.”
