Runaway boat prompts slow-speed police chase
A small boat has been carried out on the tide down the River Avon.
It might even have been carried underneath the Clifton Suspension Bridge twice; the first time coming into Bristol from the direction of Pill, and then carried back out again.
The boat was swept along the New Cut into the River Avon soon before 9am on Tuesday morning.
There is believed to have been nobody on board, but police officers still followed the vessel down the Portway towards Avonmouth.
