Refugee crisis drop-off points reopen
All drop-off points for donations to the refugee crisis have now reopened in Bristol.
The locations had to be closed after overwhelming support swamped them with aid for the Calais refugee camp.
Calais Refugee Solidarity Bristol has also had to regroup to organise a more permanent and sustainable relief effort.
It has now released a list, published on its new website, of all items needed for donation to make sure they deliver the correct aid.
The group said: “After the overwhelming success of our initial call out for donations of vital supplies for the refugee camp in Calais, our collection points are now open again.
“The refugees in Calais are still in desperate need of items that will significantly improve their standard of living, from tents and sleeping bags to basic toiletries and food.”
They added: “Whilst we’re incredibly grateful for everything we receive, t’s really important that people check the list of items that are needed and only donate those things, as anything not on the list just takes up much needed space in our warehouses.”
