In photos: Protesters take a seat in Broadmead

By Bristol24/7  Friday Oct 14, 2016

Marchers protesting against Government cuts brought roads around Broadmead to a standstill on Thursday evening as they lay in the middle of the road.

Billed by organisers Bristol People’s Assembly as the Bristol March for Doctors, Nurses & the NHS, the march began outside Bristol Eye Hospital and ended at the centre.

Protesters were angry about the changes to Junior Doctors’ contracts, the scrapping of bursaries for nurses and other healthcare students, perceived demonisation of migrant workers in the NHS, and the continued large scale cuts and privatisation imposed on NHS services.

Bristol People’s Assembly are calling for a “fully renationalised, well-funded, public NHS”.
