Protest being planned outside hotel housing asylum seekers
A protest is being planned outside a hotel in Bristol currently housing asylum seekers.
The ‘migrant hotel protest’ is being organised for 1pm on Saturday at the Mercure Bristol Brigstow Hotel on Welsh Back.
A poster says the protest is “for our children, for our future” with participants “peacefully gathering”, and told to bring flags and banners.
It comes one year after a group of racist thugs attacked the Mercure hotel in Redcliffe and were only prevented from entering by a heroic group of counter-protesters who formed a human shield.
Protests outside hotels in London, Newcastle and Altrincham have also taken place in recent weeks, with 15 people arrested so far.

A counter-protest is also being planned to “defend refugees” and “stop the far right”.
Counter-protesters are invited to meet outside the Mercure at 11.30am on Saturday morning, well in advance of the ‘migrant hotel protest’.
