By Martin Booth  Friday Mar 14, 2025

People from all faiths and none gathered in Bristol Cathedral as it hosted its third annual Grand Iftar.

The cathedral partnered with Muslims4Bristol and Bridges for Communities for the interfaith community event celebrating belonging and togetherness.

The event on Thursday which saw Iftar prayers said on College Green was described as “an opportunity to share stories, build friendships and learn from one another in a welcoming environment”.

“While Iftar holds a religious significance, this event is a community gathering not a religious service. It provides a chance for attendees to reflect, connect, and share across cultures and traditions.”

A Grand Iftar also took place on Thursday at the Memorial Stadium for the first time, while the Grand Iftar on St Mark’s Road will be taking place inside Easton Jamia Mosque on March 23.
