Parking charges to increase at Bristol Airport
The price of drop off & pick up and the short stay car parks at Bristol Airport are increasing from Monday.
Airport bosses said the increases were “not a decision it took lightly” and have blamed the recent budget which will see the airport’s business rates bill more than doubling to become its biggest non-operational cost.
“Unfortunately, like other airports, some of the cost will be passed on to consumers,” airport bosses said in a statement.
The cost of using the drop off & pick up car park will increase from £7 to £8.50 for a ten-minute stay.
Up to 15 minutes at the short stay car park will increase from £7 to £8.50 and from £9 to £10.50 for 15 to 30 minutes.
The price is also changing in the minibus and over-height car park from £7 to £8.50 for five minutes and from £9 to £10.50 for five to 20 minutes.
Bristol Airport bosses say they “needed to balance protecting people’s jobs as well as its commitment to improving the customer journey through new developments while advancing its decarbonisation plans to achieve net zero operations by 2030”.
Their statement added: “It is hoped the increased price would help discourage high volumes of customers choosing to drop off and pick up, and instead encourage greater use of more sustainable transport options, including public transport.”
