New play equipment installed in park

By Edie Earle  Tuesday Jun 24, 2025

Brand new play equipment has been installed in Montpelier Park.

The new equipment – which includes swings, climbers, a slide, seesaw and a springer – replaces a timber play area that had been installed 20 years ago.

The new play area in the park off St Andrew’s Road is part of a wider project that includes a new play unit and climber at nearby Albany Green.

The project cost around £125,000 and was funded by the Enovert Community Trust through the Landfill Communities Fund and Bristol City Council.

Bristol City Council parks project officer Mark Lawlor said: “This park plays a vital role in fostering community cohesion and the provision of the new equipment will encourage more families to visit the park.

“The funding was achieved by the hard work and commitment of the Montpelier Parks Group, who were the driving force behind the project and who worked with the council on the specification for the play area and the evaluation of the tenders.”
