A celebration of Bristol’s aerospace history

By Pamela Parkes  Tuesday Dec 16, 2014

After years of waiting and planning, late last year more than £3m of lottery cash was announced for a brand new aerospace museum for Bristol.

The museum, on the former Filton airfield, will not only provide a brand new purpose-built home for Alpha Foxtrot – the last Concorde to be produced at the Filton factory – but will celebrate the history of Bristol’s involvement in the aerospace industry from its very beginnings.

From trams to supersonic transport and beyond, the museum will showcase some of the huge collection of artefacts which has been amassed by the Bristol Aero Collection. The museum is expected to open in 2017.
