New campaign takes ‘clear stand against racism and hate’
A new campaign is calling on Bristol businesses “to take a clear stand against racism and hate”.
Anti-Racist Bristol will be a directory of anti-racist organisations – “spaces that proudly stand with refugees, migrants and people of colour”.
It has been inspired by Safe Space Bristol which calls on businesses to show that they are a safe space for trans people.

In their first post on Instagram, Anti-Racist Bristol, a campaign from Stand Up To Racism Bristol, said they “won’t stay silent”.
They wrote: “Right now, people of colour, refugees and migrants in Bristol are feeling unsafe. Many are scared to leave their homes, avoiding parts of the city where they’ve faced hostility or intimidation.
“This is not okay – and it’s not the Bristol we believe in.
“Inspired by @safespacebristol, we at @sutr_bristol are launching Anti-Racist Bristol – a citywide call to action.
“We’re asking local businesses, community spaces and organisations to take a clear, public stand against racism and hate.
“This is about more than words – it’s about action, visibility and solidarity.
“When you see an Anti-Racist Bristol sticker, you’ll know that space is safe, welcoming and unapologetically anti-racist.
“Add your name, join the directory (and) show that Bristol won’t tolerate racism, fear or division.
“Together, we fight for a city built on equality, safety and justice for everyone.
“Bristol – let’s rise up, stand tall, and make it impossible for hate to hide here.”
