Mental health charity to cycle 250 miles at Balloon Fiesta
Love Squared, a children’s mental health charity based in Bristol, is organising a team of volunteers and staff to cycle the equivalent of 250 miles using an exercise bike next to Bristol’s famous balloon festival.
The charity provides support to vulnerable children and young people with social, emotional and mental health needs.
As the fiesta runs from August 8-10, the group will be aiming to raise £2500 through the ‘Cycle to Soar’ challenge, which will be used to keep supporting those in need through mentoring, telephone helplines, online groups and school workshops.
is needed now More than ever
Last year, Love Squared saw 432 children and young people, offering a total of 21,872 hours of support to children, young people and their families.

Ben Sweet, children’s services lead at Love Squared, said: “The Bristol International Balloon Fiesta is a cornerstone of our city’s calendar, and we are incredibly excited to be a part of it again this year.
“Every pedal pushed will help us to continue providing our essential services to ensure that no child has to lose out on a world of potential because of mental health.”
The charity will also have a Love Squared tent operating during the festival, where visitors can find more information about the charity’s work and impact.
Bristol International Balloon Fiesta has been running since 1979 and is one of the largest hot air balloon festivals in Europe.
