Market turns green to celebrate St Patrick’s Day

By Karen Johnson  Sunday Mar 16, 2025

One of the city’s most vibrant market spaces was clad in all shades of green in honour of an Irish festival.

St Nick’s Market’s Glass Arcade hosted St Patrick’s Day celebrations on Sunday.

Crowds cheered on and watched in awe as dancers performed for the annual Fleadh Cheoil with live musicians playing traditional Irish tunes, all organised by W.E Irish.

Visitors could also witness a flute player, Irish folk dances, Irish music and more for a ticketed event at Revolution bar.

St Patrick’s Day is celebrated on March 17 every year to commemorate St Patrick, the patron saint of Ireland.
