Make Sunday Special returns bigger and better

This year for the first time, Make Sunday Special goes out into Bristol neighbourhoods at Easton, Avonmouth, Hartcliffe and Bedminster, as well as events in the Old City Centre on the first Sunday of each month, starting May 3rd.
Visitors can take their Sunday at walking pace in the Old City Centre and explore the streets for art, music, markets, performers and much more, or venture into Bristol neighbourhoods who will be joining in the fun this year with community led events which celebrate and showcase local areas.
City centre events will take place throughout the summer in St Nicholas Market and the historic centre of Bristol. Take a stroll and join in the family friendly fun on the day! All the events will feature acoustic entertainment, poetry and spoken word at St Stephens churchyard, a join in ‘busking corner’, Flea Market stalls and special opening times for Pranj’s, The Ox, Pata Negra, Be-On and the Cosy Club in the Old City.

Other highlights from the first three events will include:
Sunday 3rd May
• Independent Record Label Fair in St Nicks Glass Arcade bringing together 200 of the World’s greatest independent record labels.
• Rag Morris- traditional May fun
• Free world honey sampling at Source with Quentin Alsop
• Travel roadshow- including free bike maintenance and advice from Dr bike
• The Smoothie Bike- pedal power your own smoothies!
Sunday 7th June
• Centerspace Craft and Makers’ Fair. Crafts people and makers will be exhibiting, selling, and talking about their crafts- not to be missed!
• Includes a public talk about the history of crafts in Bristol, and a guided tour around the Old City.
Sunday 5th July
• Special Fairtrade market featuring traders selling Fairtrade products, to celebrate Bristol’s 10 Year Anniversary as a Fairtrade City.
• Bristol Pride dog show- an exciting family friendly fun day on Small Street, featuring school games, ball skills and much more
