Gun fired inside house

People in Knowle West were surprised to see police vans outside a house on Donegal Road on Friday.

Some speculated there had been a shooting. Police have now confirmed a gun was fired but no-one was injured.

In a statement, Avon & Somerset Police said: “Police are investigating threats towards a householder and damage to a property in Knowle.

“The damage was caused when a firearm was discharged at the house in Donegal Road between 2.30am and 3am no Friday. Thankfully no one was harmed.

“We’re taking the incident seriously, forensic investigations are underway, and a police presence remains while initial enquiries continue.

“There is not believed to be any wider risk to the public, but officers will be carrying out uniformed patrols of the area and are happy to speak to anyone with concerns.

“If you have any dashcam, doorbell or other footage of the incident or any information which could help, please call 101 and give the reference 5225237098.”

Police remain in the area.
