The face behind the voice on Bristol’s buses

Since Bristol24/7 first revealed in 2019 that Fran Edwards was the voice behind the announcements on the new metrobus service, she has been very busy.

Fran currently works as a customer service ambassador for First in Bristol Bus Station.

But she is of course best known for being the voices on the buses, not just on the metrobus routes any longer but now across Bristol and the wider West of England network.

Over the last 12 months, Fran, 63, from Hanham, has recorded more than 6,000 new announcements to ensure that passengers get a true West Country welcome.

By the end of 2025, her voice will help every passenger travelling on a First bus in the West of England.
