Dinner and a dissection coming to Bristol
An evening meal with a difference is coming to Bristol next year with Anatomy Lab Live giving guests the chance to attempt real surgery.
Following their meal, diners will swap napkins and cutlery for scrubs and suction, as acclaimed human anatomist Samuel Piri and his team of clinicians complete a head to toe dissection of the human body.
Using a range of techniques, paying punters will then get the chance to have a go themselves at corrective surgical procedures.
Following sold-out events in 2017 and 2018, next year’s experience will focus on anatomy and physiology.
Anatomy Lab Live uses a semi-synthetic corpse with real pig organs, the closest to those in a human. The cadaver promises to be very life-like, with special effects used as well as live actors.
“We’re really excited to be back with the surgery tour in 2019,” said Piri, looking forward to “a perfect blend of infotainment that will promise an unforgettable night like never before”.
The event is due to take place at the new Village Hotel in Filton on March 1 2019, with standard tickets costing £79 per person. For more information, visit www.anatomylablive.co.uk.
