Bodypainting to avoid Brexit

By Bristol24/7  Monday Jun 20, 2016

Two pro-remain activists had the Union Jack and EU flags painted on their bodies with only a few days to go until the referendum.

Sibi Moore, 20, and Claire Green, 25, danced, hugged and sang from Stokes Croft to Broadmead on Sunday afternoon, joined by supporters from the Another Europe is Possible campaign.

“We wanted to inject a bit of fun into what has been a largely depressing and scaremongering debate on both sides,” Green said.

“We wanted instead to emphasise the positive relationship between the EU and the UK which, despite its ups and downs, has successfully spanned over 40 years. The message we have brought today is one of hope over hate.”

Moore added: “We just wanted to send a clear message of unity. Embodying the EU and British flags seemed the clearest way of doing this.

“Staying in the EU isn’t just about acknowledging that it makes sense economically but also that it is the best decision for future generations. We know the EU is not perfect but we can change it together.”
