In an unusual turn of events, a famous bridge has decided to bid farewell to social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter.

But what has caught public attention are the hilarious comments, reacting to the news of Clifton Suspension Bridge leaving X.

The bridge announced their departure from X, citing “changes made to the platform” as the reason behind their decision.

Here are some of the best reactions to the bridge’s farewell news :

One user Alanzinhio said: “Never saw a bridge get triggered before. This is a first.”

Melindi Scott tweeted from her verified account: “A political bridge? That’s a new one on me.”

A former Met and Herts constable, Steve Perkins commented: “Wishing you all the support you need.”

Another user with name @deathisreal99 said: “Brunel would be turning in his grave if he could read this.”

Several comments pointed at the account’s rather low rate of posting and questioned the use of the account.

One user Rauly said: “I will never use your bridge again. I will simply swim! Good bye!”

The Guardian also announced their decision to leave the platform on Wednesday, citing the US presidential election as the tipping point for their decision.

They said: “The US presidential election campaign served only to underline what we have considered for a long time: that X is a toxic media platform and that its owner, Elon Musk, has been able to use its influence to shape political discourse.”
