Slide Bristol, the smart, app-based commuting service are giving £15 to everybody who downloads their app. You can use the credit, which they’ll pop in your account when you sign up, to get you to work, or home again, in comfort and style this January.
How does it work?
Think of it as part taxi, part bus. Passengers use the Slide app to select their desired travel time and a clever algorithm calculates the optimal route based on others requesting a similar journey. With up to eight passengers travelling in a Slide together, the price is on average half that of a taxi, so, a single from Filton to Bristol city centre is £7, with shorter distances such as Temple Meads to Clifton £4.
Unlike bus routes, Slide routes are created according to user demand. As a passenger you’re given a pick-up point no more than five minutes walk from your starting point and receive real time journey updates via the app. What’s more, once on board you can enjoy free Wi-Fi to make an early start on the day or catch up on the latest Netflix series!
Driven by Superheroes
Slide prides itself on it’s friendly drivers who’ll go out of their way to make your commute hassle free and who know that a cheery ‘Hello’ on a morning goes a long way. And, like every good superhero they’ve got superhero names like Super Sati, Never Late Naz and Captain Kash!
Expanding in 2017
Back in the summer Slide Bristol set out to make commuting in Bristol a more enjoyable and hassle-free experience. Launched in July, it’s been an exciting 6 months for the tech startup who’ve seen more and more Bristolians trying a new, better, ride to work.
Based on customer feedback, they’ve already expanded to cover new areas of the city and from January 10th 2017 they’re adding more vehicles, double the number in fact! So, expect to see more of Slide around Bristol and let’s show the rest of the country what the future of commuting looks like!
