ROBIN HOOD COMEDY: Return of this regular comedy night at Kingsdown’s friendly Robin Hood pub with headliner Rhys James. The Robin Hood, 8pm.

TCHAIKOVSKY SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA: A night with one of Russia’s most widely acclaimed ensembles, led by director Vladimir Fedoseyev. Colston Hall, 7.30pm. 

ROMAN STETINA/ MIROSLAV BURIÁNEK: Videos, installations and sculptures explore the makings of broadcast media such as film, television and radio. Spike Island, 12pm-5pm. 

JACK REACHER: NEVER GO BACK: Rufty-tufty Tom Cruise defies the title of the film and, er, goes back. Various venues.

THE HONEYFIRE/ SWAMPMOTHER/ CIRCE’S DINNER: Bristol’s record label Jelli Records presents a launch party for The Honeyfire’s new single Replica. Louisiana, 7.30pm.  

THE TITFIELD THUNDERBOLT: Whimsical Ealing classic about a bunch of villagers who fight British Rail cuts by taking over their branch line and running it themselves. Curzon, 4.30pm.
