‘Play Me, I’m Yours’ piano finds a new home

Within minutes of being installed in its new home at May Park Primary School in Eastville, children and adults alike were playing on the piano that for the last few weeks has been next to Vodafone in Broadmead.

“Those first magical musical moments encapsulate the joy of this project and demonstrate exactly why we are so privileged to be this piano’s new custodians,” said headmaster Paul Bull.

“To think that this can provoke a child’s curiosity and inspire them to have a go, is just fabulous.”

May Park were the lucky recipients of the piano designed by John Edwin Collett thanks to its sponsor, Broadmead BID.

It is only one of 18 Play Me, I’m Yours street pianos that will now be found a new home across Bristol as Luke Jerram’s latest public art project comes to a close.
