First look inside St Peter’s Hospice ‘superstore’

By Binodi Dissanayake  Sunday Mar 10, 2024

A new ‘superstore’ from Bristol charity shop St Peter’s Hospice has opened for business.

The superstore is located at the top of Jacob’s Wells Road on the ground floor of the West End car park in what used to be Bathstore.

It’s the first larger shop of its kind for the charity, selling a broad selection of furniture, clothing, accessories and children’s toys, all of which are either donated, upcycled or new.

The new store is mostly made up of furniture. In fact, two thirds of the superstore’s space is entirely dedicated to furniture, both brand new and second-hand.

There is an extensive vintage men’s apparel section

But the superstore still has a spacious corner for its characteristic blend of second-hand clothing, ornaments and vintage valuables.

The clothing section is wonderfully colour coded and divided between men’s and women’s apparel. There was also a display of several vintage/designer handbags and footwear at a bargain price.

The store also has a donation centre hidden beside the electronics area, for anyone interested in donating small accessories and clothing.
