New food pop-up for the Gallimaufry

By Edie Earle  Tuesday Jun 3, 2025

One of Bristol’s most popular burger joints has announced that it will be taking over the kitchen at Gloucester Road’s Gallimaufry.

Fat Dad’s Kitchen, which has previously had pop-ups at Lost & Grounded brewery in St Anne’s and Industry just up the road from the Galli, serves “filthy smash burgers and dirty fries for the soul”.

The Galli has been accommodating pop-ups since the closure of its in-house kitchen in July 2024, including Korean street food from Sky Kong Kong and Sunday roasts from the team behind TnT Tacos.

Fat Dad’s Kitchen, which was a 2024 finalist in the National Burger Awards, is the latest to step into the Galli’s kitchen.

It won’t be long before the Galli’s patrons are able to sample the indulgent options on Fat Dad’s menu, with the launch set for June 12.

Fat Dad’s Kitchen owner and chef Paul says he is “beyond excited and privileged to be taking over the kitchen at one of Bristol’s most iconic venues”.

Paul said: “Can’t wait to fire up the griddle and welcome both new and old faces.

“See you all on the 12th!”
