Wine bar opens doors for guests to join ‘trade tastings’
A popular wine bar is calling on wine enthusiasts to join them for an evening of tasting, reviewing and enjoying curated wines.
The team at KASK are putting together a wine fair – Spring Fling – which will give everyone interested the chance to experience a trade tasting.
Generally, trade tastings are opened up to industry experts, wine producers and buyers with the idea of tasting and meeting new prospective buyers and sellers, and forming business relationships. But with KASK’s one-of-a-kind wine fair more than 40 wines will be sampled for anyone visiting the fair, who will then be able to provide feedback that co-owner Charlie Taylor will take into account while curating the wine bar’s next list.

Taylor said, “Spring Fling is our way of inviting guests into the kind of experience we usually only get at trade tastings – where we taste through loads of wines, meet the importers and discover what’s going to shape our next list.

He continued: “It’s informal, flavour-packed and a real celebration of the wines we’re excited to drink right now. The feedback we get on the day won’t just be noted – it’ll help guide what ends up on our menu and we’ll be holding a repeat of the fair in the Autumn to bring in that season’s wines too.”
Importers from across the world will be in attendance. This includes Bristol’s Spiegel & Peach, Italian wine importers VinAnima, Hungary and Romania-based Danube Wines, Wines Under the Bonnet based out of England and France, and The Jolly Merchants from Slovenia and Bulgaria.
Expect a laid-back afternoon in a pour-as-you-go format with reds, whites, pét-nats and skin-contact wines stirring up flavourful conversations.
The event offers sensational sips and storytelling straight from winemakers themselves.
Local legend DJ Jon Leisure is set to kick-start the fair, creating the perfect vibes for an afternoon of flavourful fun.
A pure celebration of wine, music and community, the event is open to all, whether you’re simply looking for a spring night out or just a true lover of wine.

Not only will guests get to experience such industry secrets, but curators are enthusiastic for guests to play a crucial role in shaping KASK’s future wine lists.
Available tickets for the one-afternoon fair at the natural wine bar’s venue on North Street include full access to all 40 wines at £40, or £3 per glass for those who want to pick and choose.
