Former Cornwall-based seafood restaurant coming to Bristol

By Karen Johnson  Wednesday Jul 9, 2025

One of Bristol’s most bustling food streets is preparing to welcome a new seafood restaurant.

Chandos Road, which has been bathing in the glory of culinary expertise from restaurants like Wilson’s, Little Hollows Pasta, and most recently Dongnae, will soon welcome a former Cornwall-based restaurant.

One Fish Street opened in St Ives in 2019 with a fish-led tasting menu at the helm of their operations. However, after several years of feeding Cornwall refined seafood dishes, the team made the “tough decision” to shut down permanently in early January.

With hints of “something new” first announced in December 2024, the team are now officially preparing to take up a spot in Bristol.

According to the restaurant’s website, the new restaurant will open by September on the site of a former florist, Clifton Flowers.

Clifton Flowers closed their shop after more than three decades of business in April, and the site has since remained empty.

In Cornwall, the family-run establishment owned by chef Bradley Monk, aimed to create a “relaxed, friendly service meets culinary creativity” atmosphere, a vision that was awarded best restaurant by Food Lifestyle in May 2023.

If all goes to plan, Chandos Road will soon have its first seafood restaurant.
