Food Connections festival returns to Bristol
City-wide springtime festival Food Connections is set to return for a third time this year on April 28, with an extensive programme of events, talks and workshops all in celebration of glorious food.
The festival will run until May 7, and will see more than 100 events taking place across Bristol in venues such as the BBC, UWE, the Watershed and At-Bristol, all aiming to showcase the wealth of good food projects, brilliant restaurants and respected retailers in the city.
Launching with “the Oscars of the food world” – BBC Radio 4’s prestigious Food and Farming Awards – the nine-day event hopes to encourage thousands of people to raise their forks in celebration of the rich, diverse and ever-expanding food culture that is becoming a defining characteristic of Bristol.
This year’s festival, run by Bristol Food Network, will be organised by a committee full of fresh faces, including co-founder of the Abergavenny Food Festival Martin Orbach and new Festival Manager Aine Morris, who comes from her role as Head of Communications at the Sustainable Food Trust.
