Bristol wine producer creates immersive soundscape to pair with new rosé

By Milan Perera  Wednesday Aug 7, 2024

A Bristol-based wine producer has decided to take the experience of sipping a glass of wine to the next level with their latest still rosé.

Dunleavy Vineyards have teamed up with the BAFTA-winning sound editor, Angela Groves, whose credits include Life of Birds, Life of Mammals, Secret World of Sound, Springwatch and Autumnwatch, to create a sensory experience.

Blending wine and audio is nothing new to Dunleavy Vineyards, as they joined forces with several Bristol-based musicians including Harriet Riley, Stevie Toddler, Alex Garden and Georgie Ward last year to create soundtracks to ‘pair’ with their rosé.

Angela Groves of SynergySound is the sound designer who created the soundscape.

Ingrid Bates, the founder of Dunleavy Vineyards, said: “We’re really pleased with the wine itself and can’t wait to see what people think of it.”

Bates, who herself loves wildlife and has a minimalist intervention approach to growing her vines could not be happier with the collaboration.

“We love using QR codes in a creative way to allow our customers to interact with us and make the wine drinking experience more fun,” she added.

Dunleavy’s wines are made using just two principal grape varieties: regent and seyval blanc.

According to the founders, both varieties are modern hybrids and unlike most classic grape varieties which require little to no chemical intervention in growing.
