Each has their unique aromatics, inspirations and strengths all crafted by a proud Bristolian.

Pete Lumber, also known as ‘Random Pete,’ kick-started his path in 2007 when he bought a pub on a whim, simply driven by his love for food and drink.

Pete began distilling in 2018, with a tiny setup in Newbury which allowed his creativity and talent to shine through.

Pete’s brand new gin is distilled in Avonmouth using sustainable, low-waste production methods and ethically-sourced botanicals.

The success the brand has already achieved has put Bristol on the global gin map while celebrating the city’s culture.

Pete said: “It’s been incredible to bring this to life back in my hometown. I’m so overwhelmed by the support I’ve had from Bristol’s hospitality scene.”

Over 30 locations have already stocked The Spirit of Bristol including Spirited, Corks of Bristol and Grape & Grind.

Gold winning Clifton Royale has notes of lavender and elderberry softened around bright citrus and subtle spice. Designed for a martini, this gin was inspired by the Georgian terraces of Clifton.

The just as critically acclaimed Harbourside is navy strength at 58 per cent.

This gin channels the city’s industrial heritage and maritime power with a combination of blackberry, elderberry and clove notes with a punch of citrus.

Hotwells Spice is rooted in Bristol’s role in the spice trade – nettle, cardamom and lime life give it an exotic base.

London Dry is a sharply aromatic twist on the classic gin. Juniper, cubeb pepper, cardamom and citrus zest come together for the perfect gin and tonic.

“At The Spirit of Bristol Distillery, we proudly employ the time-honoured one-shot method in our gin crafting—a technique that ensures every bottle is infused with depth and character.”

“After over a year of planning and tastings, seeing the launch come together has been amazing..”
