Farmfest 2017 announces first wave of acts

This is the Kit, Shobaleader One, Melt Yourself Down, BC Camplight and Dele Sosimi will all be playing at this year’s Farmfest.

One of the UK’s most unique and inclusive small festivals takes place in Somerset from July 28-29.

For 12 years, Farmfest have worked to showcase some of the most exciting established and emerging left-of-field live acts and DJs.

One of the most influential drummers of recent times, according to Brian Eno, Tony Allen will headline, an essential to the creation of the Afrobeat genre, Farmfest will present a rare chance to witness his jazz infused tribute to the great bebop drummer Art Blakey. Joining him are a variety of acts and DJs such as Greg Wilson, DJ Yoda, Actress, Max Graef, and Session Victim.

Farmfest are particularly excited to welcome onto the main stage Squarepusher’s Shobaleader One showcasing new album Elektrak.

Following selection for Guy Garvey’s 6 Music album of the year, This is the Kit bring their distinctive brand of folk to the Big Blue Tent, while at the opposite end of the sonic spectrum are Melt Yourself Down.

Over the coming months, further acts will continue to be announced, in addition to a full line-up of the comedy, theatrics and other creative crafts taking place in a large variety of food stalls as a new addition for 2017.

The festival work to keep their foot print and ticket prices down, and have raised more £5,000 a year for their chosen charities.
