‘A Midsummer Night’s Dream’ comes to Bath Abbey this summer
After the success of Henry V in 2022 and their award-winning adaptation of Romeo & Juliet in 2024, Antic Disposition are marking their 20th anniversary by bringing Shakespeare back to Bath Abbey for a three-week run this August.
This promenade performance of A Midsummer Night’s Dream, which ranks amongst the Bard’s most beloved comedies, will see the Abbey transformed into an enchanted forest full of fairies.
The audience will be on their feet, guided through the action by ushers to ensure they do not miss any of the action.
is needed now More than ever
The play is directed by Ben Horslen and John Risebero, co-founders of the company, and features an ensemble cast of nine professional actors from the Bath area.
It offers “a magical escape into a world of mischief and wonder” they say, and “an unmissable addition to Bath’s cultural calendar and a unique theatrical experience in one of the UK’s most atmospheric venues”.
