Sober rave to return with stellar lineup

By Milan Perera  Monday Jan 19, 2026

Bristol Sober Spaces is returning with its second annual Dry January Rave, promising a high-energy night out without the aid of alcohol or drugs.

The sober events collective, founded in 2022, is built on the belief that great nights out can be entirely drug and alcohol-free.

Open to people in recovery, those who are sober for religious reasons, or anyone simply looking for a different way to enjoy Bristol’s nightlife, the events focus on music, connection and community.

Bristol Sober Spaces began with National Lottery funding through Not Saints – the world’s only recovery record label – and is now firmly embedded within Creative Communities at Bristol Drugs Project (BDP).

Since then, it has grown into a regular fixture on the city’s cultural calendar, hosting accessible and affordable live events across a wide range of genres.

Past events have spanned drum and bass, garage, hip hop, house, metal, punk, world and queer music, with collaborations including Trinity, Rough Trade, Loco Klub, The Jam Jar, Basement 45 and Bristol Beacon.

In summer 2025, Trinity Centre hosted the first ever full-length sober rave organised by Bristol Sober Spaces which featured the likes of Nicky Blackmarket, Milly on Air, Steven Stone, Discobobulator, Josephine Gyasi, MISNEACH and Roni Size.

Partnering once again with Trinity, this year’s Dry January Rave will feature a stellar line-up led by drum and bass talisman Jumpin’ Jack Frost, alongside Savannah and Costlykover.

The rave will start at 6pm with the final set to be completed by 9pm.

The night promises a high-energy blend of drum and bass and jungle, with all the buzz of a club night and none of the hangover.

As well as saving money and enjoying music with a clear head, organisers say the events offer something deeper – a welcoming space where people can feel part of a growing sober nightlife scene.

Sophie Wilsdon, founder of Bristol Sober Spaces, said: “Bristol Sober Spaces just keeps getting bigger and bigger – more new audience members, more artists getting in touch to perform, and more venues wanting to collaborate.

“Our Dry Jan Rave at Trinity is looking like it’s going to sell out, which proves there’s a real space in Bristol’s nightlife scene for sober events.”
