Otherworldly music video filmed at Ashton Court
The latest release from the artist called “Bristol’s answer to Frank Zappa” – though he has recently rejected the comparison – features a video filmed in the lush surroundings of Ashton Court.
Cave Tree, released on Friday, is the third single from Fabio Ferri‘s forthcoming album Transfiguration.
Ferri says: “This song is deeply rooted in personal memories and Bristol’s natural and historical landscapes: from a tree with a cave inside, to the reverberating vocals and horns recorded at the medieval St Stephen’s Church.”
is needed now More than ever
It features otherworldly masked dancers, dreamy and surreal instrumental breaks, a spoken word passage and powerful jazz vocals backed up by Ferri’s guitar that lends the track a distinctive Bossa Nova flavour.
The band will play the track live at Cafe Kino on Stokes Croft on August 13 in a show that also features poet and lyricist Solomon OB.
Ferri says the album, due for release in September, will fuse live jungle and drum ‘n’ bass rhythms with jazz, baroque and romantic sounds, and will be “a journey through displacement, neurodivergence, academia and diverse musical genres.”
