New release: Vulture God come out swinging
The debut EP from progressive death metal outfit Vulture God is unashamedly hard-hitting.
No Easy Answer, released on December 15, successfully showcases the heavy riffs, sweeping solos and visceral vocals of the five-piece that played their first show in March of this year.
They name Gojira, Opeth, Cult of Luna, Blood Incantation, Conjurer and Mastodon as key influences.
The four track EP was preceded by two singles, No Easy Answer and Safe Haven.
It comes hot on the heels of the band playing the O2 Academy’s main room alongside Hole Tripper, Nuns of the Tundra, Buried in Bermuda and Dead Rubber Dolls in a Bristol showcase organised by We Need Bands.
The independent live music promoter put on what they called the ‘Upgrade Experiment’ to see if a local lineup could out-sell the venue’s second room and be moved onto the mainstage. The plan worked and, in the end, over 400 people attended the event which was hailed a triumph for Bristol’s grassroots scene.

Vulture God also drew attention with their performance at the Bristol edition of Metal to the Masses which landed them in the final of the battle of the bands competition only six months after forming, before eventually losing out to Monochrome.
The band officially launch the EP with their biggest headline show to date, at the Croft on January 10 2026. They are supported by Convey and Mandragora: headfirstbristol.co.uk/whats-on/the-croft/sat-10-jan-vulture-god-with-convey-mandragora
