Music group for dads fundraising to stay afloat
A community music organisation has launched a fundraiser for one of its ‘most loved’ programmes.
Dads Rock sessions provide an opportunity for dads and their little ones to make music together in groups across Bristol and the south west.
Run by community music facilitators Evolve Music, the groups have been meeting in Barton, Southmead, Hartcliffe and Worle but funds are now needed to ensure the free creative programme can continue.
is needed now More than ever

Dads Rock sessions are for male caregivers to support each other on their parenting journeys and to bond with their children aged two or under through music
Designed to help dads and male caregivers connect with their children as well as each other, attendees say the sessions have helped with bonding, reduced isolation and boosted confidence.
“Dads Rock was a bridge to help me get out and talk to people again,” one dad said. “I was a bit nervous the first time I went. I’d never been at a baby group on my own before. Within ten minutes everyone was chatting… It has been a confidence-building tool.”
The weekly sessions, typically taking place on a Saturday morning, are facilitated by experienced community musicians who lead creative sessions of singing, story-telling, music and play.
Evolve hope to raise £2,500 to support the continuation of the sessions.
