Lady of The House unveil mentoring scheme for female and non-binary DJs

By Issy Packer  Friday Feb 2, 2024

Lady of the House, the Bristol based community and organisation promoting, celebrating and championing women in dance music have launched a new DJ mentoring initiative.

The program aims to empower emerging and marginalised DJ’s in the city.

In collaboration with PPL, the UK’s music licensing company, the mentoring sessions will be hosted by global DJ’s and organisations.

EatDrink24/7 Launch Party is back on July 8 2026!
Exclusive collabs from Bristol’s favourite food vendors, available for one night only. Be first to grab your free copy of the EatDrink24/7 guide – plus every ticket comes with a free limited-edition beer can.

The mentoring program will kick off in March and will run over ten weeks with the winners receiving comprehensive mentorship from renowned global producers and DJs.

The mentors include Sam Divine from Defected Records, platinum selling artists Charlotte Devany, Cristina Lazic, and Carly Wilford.

These DJ’s will all share their experiences and learnings on how they have carved out their successful careers and navigated the industry as women.

To be included on the program, Lady of the House invites all female and non-binary DJs from Bristol to submit a 30 minute demo mix and then ten winners will be selected by Lady of the House and producer, Sam Divine.

The program will also feature industry insights from leading organisations who will share practical business knowledge required to be successful.

The organisations included are NYX, a top-tier social media agency managing accounts, Labelworx, a global label distributor with a track record of nurturing labels, Night Time Economy, Beatport, and Lakota will also be included in the program.

Participants in the program will also benefit from a promotional campaign to amplify them as an artist globally and a chance to perform live at Lakota.

Applicants have until February 18 to submit their mix at https://www.label-worx.com/demo/LOTH-DJ
