On Thursday the dBs Institute of Sound & Digital Technologies will hold their annual Innovation in Sound exhibition.
This free event showcases “cutting-edge sound art and immersive audio experiences” from third-year electronic music production students.
Held at Loco Klub from 1pm – 11pm, the event features live performances, interactive exhibits and immersive soundscapes.

The audiovisual installations explore themes around identity, womanhood, human connection and consumption and visibility.
‘Accumulation’ by Noah Park-Roesel allows visitors to create music by moving around chess pieces.
Noah, an electronic music production student, said they are most excited for “watching other people experience the wonder that I have felt while creating it.
“Seeing people react to their moves changing something within the music is going to be absolutely brilliant”.
The showcase also includes ‘Where do I belong?’ by Sara Aquino, a multi-channel project inspired by their move from Italy to Bristol, which explores the places they feel at home.

Praising Innovation in Sound’s “experimental approach to music-making,” module leader Emmanuel Spinelli, said the project introduces students “to non-commercial and unconventional techniques and an entire industry based on those creative practices.
“Their works will highlight ways that music can improve society and the way we relate to each other through immersive and interactive sound art.”
