Fresh sounds from Fresh 4
Bristol Archive Records have been digging up the city’s musical history for years, unearthing forgotten treasures from the punk, indie and reggae scenes among others.
The latest act to be excavated are Fresh 4. Featuring future drum & bass heroes Krust, Flynn and Suv, the South Bristol crew scraped the UK Top 10 with their 1989 Smith & Mighty-produced cover of Wishing On A Star. Their career was short-lived, though. They only released another two singles before the various members moved onto other projects.
From the poppy Take Control to (then) cutting edge fusions of hip-hop and house, The Lost Tapes documents a time when British music was changing incredibly fast.
