Chai Wallahs’ genre-busting new project debuts in Bristol
Conn3ct is a new musical project born from a desire to connect souls, musical heritage and powerful female spirit – while connecting audiences through collectively sharing the energy brought by each of the performers involved.
Bristol-based promoters and festival stalwarts Chai Wallahs, at the helm of this project, promise a monumental 90 minute show combining the unique talents of Bristol’s MĀDŁY, London’s Amy True, and Sheffield’s Aziza Jaye – well known as the vocalist in Nubiyan Twist and for countless other collaborations.
“We are three sisters with very different and unique styles,” MĀDŁY says, promising the ‘genre-breaking’ performance fusing hip hop, neo-soul and afro-jazz will be a musical journey steeped in vocal prowess, virtuosic musicianship and deep emotional connection.

The project goes live with its first show, at St Jude’s venue The Jam Jar, in March before appearing on the Chai Wallahs stage at Kendall Calling and Green Man, followed by a show at Boomtown festival in August, and with a multi-city tour planned for autumn 2025.

The show features a house band made up of Bristol musicians notable for their own projects, with Alex Veitch of Yetii on keys, Harry Stoneham of Waldo’s Gift on bass and Cousin Kula‘s Joe Milkinson on drums.
Potter, of Chai Wallahs, explains why they were keen to collaborate with the artists and independent venues like the Jam Jar on this new venture: “We are always looking to start new projects and provide as many consistent performance platforms as possible for emerging and independent artists,” he said.
“We wanted to help create a show that would aid three artists’ career progression by touring in each other’s respective cities and in turn reach wider audiences both collectively and as individuals.
“Conn3ct displays an amazing kinship between three performers with similar audience profiles, though individually unique in style”.

Bristol-based neo soul duo Hibiscus will also join the lineup in the support slot.
“It’s not just about supporting the headline acts,” Potter said, “but also about giving a leg-up to artists just starting out.”
The show comes just before MĀDŁY first solo performance at the International Women’s Day event co-hosted by Bristol 24/7 on March 8.
Conn3ct comes to the Jam Jar on March 6 at 7:30pm. Tickets can be found here.
