Bristol Sounds Superfans: Kaiser Chiefs

By Ursula Billington  Tuesday Jun 10, 2025

In the run up to the Bristol Sounds concert series, which this year features much-loved acts that have long stood the test of time, Bristol superfans reveal their favourite memories of the bands playing.

On June 26 longstanding indie rockers Kaiser Chiefs take to the Lloyds Amphitheatre stage to celebrate the 20 year anniversary of their debut album, Employment, which charted at number three when released in 2025, became the fourth best-selling album in the UK that year and has gone, in total, seven times Platinum.

Superfan Lewis Bolt shares why he loves the band and his hopes for the Bristol Sounds show.

“I discovered Kaiser Chiefs through their debut album Employment. I love that every song on it feels like a single.”

“They were the first band I ever saw live and their show just made me want to go to loads more gigs.”

“My favourite memory of the band has to be seeing them at Reading festival in 2012. It was such a hectic show that I somehow lost a shoe in the crowd, and had to hobble round the rest of the festival with one shoe.”

“I just love the choruses, and their music just really throws me back to being 13 and getting into music.”

“I’m really excited to sing along badly to Modern Way with all my mates at the Bristol show!”
