Mountains on Stage returns to Bristol
Founded in 2013, Mountains on Stage‘s simple mission is to bring the best mountain films on the world to cinema screens around the globe. The Winter Edition comprises four films telling “extraordinary and inspiring stories”.

K2: Chasing Shadows follows Benjamin Védrines, one of the world’s best alpinists, who dreams of taking on the “savage mountain” (8611m, the second-highest peak in the world). But what does K2 truly represent for this accomplished climber: the pursuit of a new record, the shadow of past failures, or a deeply personal trial?
is needed now More than ever

Zahir follows Katherine Choong and Eline Le Menestrel as they take on one of the toughest big wall routes in the Swiss Alps. As if that wasn’t a tough enough challenge, they raise the bar even higher by travelling only with bikes.

Better Up There is a moving portrait of freeride skier Leo Slemett, exploring how the challenges he faces shape his life.

Finally, So Far Above follows four-time world champion Solenne Piret, who was born without a right hand, as she takes on a new challenge: the legendary Grand Capucin – one of Mont Blanc’s most iconic spires. But despite her intensive training, doubts linger: this time, did she aim too high?
You can see the full programme at the Showcase cinema on Tuesday 9 December. Advance tickets are available here.
