The musical version of Mean Girls finally knocked Wonka off the top spot after six weeks. Still, Warner Brothers won’t be complaining given that Wonka‘s £58m haul puts it at number 27 in the UK all-time chart. It should also sail past Oscar-bound Oppenheimer shortly. Speaking of awards season, Poor Things is holding up well and is joined by Alexander Payne’s The Holdovers, which just failed to make the top five. At the foot of the chart, the reissue of the 1981 concert film of Queen at the Montreal Forum was the weekend’s big event cinema success. But it’s farewell to Priscilla, Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom, and The Boys in the Boat, all of which slipped out of the top ten.
