By Bristol24/7  Tuesday Oct 18, 2016

Sue Perkins will be in Bristol next year when she brings her stand-up show Spectacles to the Colston Hall on March 7.

Perkins promises an evening “packed full of sparkling wit, great stories, a user’s guide to Mary Berry and the very best bits from her hilarious, No. 1 best-selling memoir Spectacles“.

The further 16 dates follow the show’s initial sold out leg September.

Perkins said: “Having spent the last seven years crammed into a tellybox shouting the word ‘Bake’, I think it’s high time I got out, and stretched my legs on the UK stage.”

Perkins found fame as one half of her double-act with Mel Giedroyc.

In 2008, she won the BBC show Maestro culminating in her conducting at The Last Night of the Proms. She has created the acclaimed travel documentary The Mekong River with Sue Perkins, hosts new shows Insert Name Here and Spelling Bee and is a regular on Have I Got News For You, Just a Minute, QI and The News Quiz.

By the time of her arrival in Bristol, she will be the former host of The Great British Bake Off.
