Comedy / Fundraiser Event
James Acaster, Nish Kumar, Jenny Eclair and Jayde Adams to headline charity fundraiser
Bristol Hippodrome will be playing host to an all-star comedy lineup on September 29, headlined by James Acaster, Nish Kumar, Jenny Eclair and Jayde Adams.
MC on the night will be veteran comic, speaker and podcaster Stuart Goldsmith (Live at the Apollo) and completing the bill is Amy Annette, an up-and-coming standup who has recently supported Kumar on his international tour.
Curated by West Country singer-songwriter Gavin Osborn, the gig will be raising money for SWEDA, the eating disorders charity supporting over 1,000 people across the South and West.

The charity works with people of all ages, offering a range of therapeutic support strategies to the individuals, friends, family and colleagues of those experiencing eating disorders.
Undoubtedly one of the most globally recognisable standups working today, Acaster broke new ground with Repertoire, his four serialised comedy specials (Netflix), as well as his 2024 HBO special, Heckler’s Welcome.
He has multiple critically acclaimed shows and bestselling books to his name, as well as a curated experimental music album (Party Gator Purgatory), and the all-conquering food podcast Off Menu, which he has co-hosted with Ed Gamble since 2018.
Also navigating stellar success, Kumar has spent much of 2025 on tour in the Australia, New Zealand, the US, and Europe with Nish, Don’t Kill My Vibe. He is characterised – and beloved – for his incisive political comedy and his fast and furious delivery, a blend that has earned him international critical acclaim.

30 years ago, Eclair was the first female act to win the Edinburgh Comedy Award – then known as the Perrier. Still touring standup shows – including 2025’s Jokes, Jokes, Jokes – Live! – she is also a staple of TV and radio, and the author of multiple novels.
Award-winning comic, actor, writer, and Bristol royalty, Adams is the star of her own sitcom Ruby Speaking (ITV), as well as featuring in Sophie Willan’s BAFTA-winning Alma’s Not Normal (BBC). Her comedy special Serious Black Jumper (Amazon Prime) has received over 20 million views.
