Bookworms flock to Heron Books for reopening
Heron Books has reopened in its new and larger location.
Having previously been in the Clifton Arcade, it has found a new home a stone’s throw away on Regent Street opposite Coppa, still in the heart of Clifton Village.
Having outgrown their original premises, owner Lizzie Moss – with help from her friends and family – has spent the last week moving books between the two sites.
is needed now More than ever
The new store occupies what was a one-up-one-down hairdressers, fixed with a glamorous chandelier left over from former tenants.

Their opening day on Saturday was buzzing with people.
Locals who had missed their favourite book store flocked to show their support, speak to the staff and enjoy the warm ambience of the room – now elevated with its high ceilings creating further space.
The new white interior, minimal oak furnishings, allows for the books to colour the space.
In one corner, there is a ‘Heronspiration’ board and in the other, a handful of books wrapped with only the blurb written on it to tempt those in need of someone to suggest a good book for them.

The store has a range of fiction, non-fiction and children’s books, and is spread out on two floors.
Heron Books offers personal recommendations and the creation of bespoke gift lists for special occasions, and runs events including a monthly poetry series and several book groups.
Be prepared to enter and walk away with enough books to fill your boots.
