‘What can a taxi ride tell you about a city?’ Dhaqan Collective presents ‘The People’s Carriage’
Confluence, MAYK’s ambitious long-form artist residency project, is now in its final stage.
Alongside Howl Yuan, Ramelle Williams and Iman Sultan-West, Dhaqan Collective – led by Fozia Ismail and Ayan Cilmi – were selected to pursue creative explorations of our changing city.
They are now ready to share their work, in an immersive installation that invites people to ask: “What can a taxi ride tell you about a city?”
At Redcliffe Wharf, visitors are invited to discover The People’s Carriage, following the myriad journeys across Bristol through sound, light and narrative history.

The experience will unfold inside a stationary taxi, and promises to reveal “Bristol’s many layers, through the voices of those who know it’s streets best”.
Refreshments will be provided after the event.
The People’s Carriage – Dhaqan Collective is at Redcliffe Wharf on May 7-8, with free bookable 35 minute time slots running from 2-8pm daily. For more information, visit www.confluence-bristol.com.
