Shop to squat to art gallery

A group of squatters has transformed a former shop on Park Street into a temporary art gallery.

What used to be Moss Bros is now Viva La Metamorphosis – two floors of canvasses, sculptures and plenty of scrawling on walls.

In a statement, the group said: “We are creating an open access space for people to meet and manifest their creative powers, released from the constraints of existing exhibition and funding structure.

“Free of history. Free of expectations. An intervention to the urban landscape fermenting a fertile ground for new ideas to emerge and evolve.”
