New street art festival to add colour to shipping container accommodation
Some of the best street artists from Bristol and further afield will be taking part in the first Help Bristol’s Homeless Paint Fest.
Over the weekend of May 10 and 11, more than a dozen artists will be painting the shipping containers on the charity’s site in Bedminster, aiming to transform the space into a vibrant canvas.
The free event will see artists including Andy Council, Inkie and Pekoe alongside music and food, raising money for Help Bristol’s Homeless who aim to find pioneering practical solutions to homelessness in Bristol.
is needed now More than ever
The charity has converted shipping containers into homes on Spring Street that have already provided shelter to more than 500 people, with 288 moved on into independent living.
Founded by Jasper Thompson eight years ago, Help Bristol’s Homeless’ multifaceted approach to supporting homeless individuals includes both providing safe shelter and many support services, such as employment aid.
The charity receives no government funding but since its humble beginnings in a single caravan is now a million-pound project.
Paint Fest is one event that aims to fundraise and raise awareness about the incredible organisation.
