New Banksy concealed within hours of being claimed

By Karen Johnson  Monday Sep 8, 2025

A new Banksy in London depicts a judge wearing a traditional wig attacking what seems to be a protester with a gavel, while the protester holds a placard with blood markings.

The street artist shared a picture of the art painted on one side of the Royal Courts of Justice building on Monday morning, which according to social media posts was boarded up with a plastic sheet and metal frames hours later.

In a picture shared by Palestine Lobby, the art is now hidden with two officers standing guard.

The art, even though not explicitly stated, seems like a symbolic reference to the many protesters facing arrest in recent times, especially for showing support to the now-proscribed group Palestine Action.

In the comments on Banky’s post, several users have also made similar inferences with activism group Defend Our Juries appreciating the symbolism and adding that the “state is trying to deter us, but they can’t beat our solidarity”.

This is the second art to be claimed by Banksy in 2025, with the first one appearing in a then unknown location in May.
